Playful monsters dance with robots in
the sky, children frolic with oversized bumble bees
on a hillside, a happy slobbering bug imagines himself
a star in front of thousands at Carnegie hall. From
engaging character portraits to fantasy worlds filled
with active entities, these are the works of Portland
artist Kimberlee Elizabeth Hutchins.
Hutchins’s works employ a sense
of continual shift executed through diverse medias and
experimental technique. Her style of infusing interesting
characters into dream-like environments pleases the
eye and drives the imagination.
“I do my best to explore and learn
while I paint,” says Hutchins. “I get a
great deal of satisfaction in looking past the grind
of day to day life and escaping into my work,”
she added.
